Posted on September 6, 2024

SIR PAUL NWOSU

The Anambra State Government said that its attention has been drawn to the activities of some unscrupulous persons who have continued to deceive unsuspecting members of the public to purchase parcels of land within the World Bank Rice Project, Ufuma, claiming that it belongs to them.

According to a notice issued by the Permanent Secretary, Anambra State Ministry of Lands, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, Esq on behalf of the commissioner, the general public are advised to be wary of the activities of land grabebrs and/or any purported claim or release of the World Bank Rice Project, Ufuma, because the land belongs to the State Government and the Anambra State Government, through the Ministry of Lands has never released any land to anyone, persons or any community in that regards, even as the said parcels of land remains the property of the Anambra State Government.

“Anyone who wants to transact on any Government land or any land in the state should visit Ministry of Lands and conduct an official search to ascertain the true position of the property”.

Land grabbers and persons in the habit of encroaching on Anambra State Government land are hereby warned to desist from any further encroachment or trespass as the State Government shall take all legal steps towards recovering the said parcels of land including criminal prosecution.
