Youth Development: Ekwunife Facilitates Another 2-Day Entrepreneurial Development Workshop

Yesterday, December 17, 2020 another batch of participants from Anambra Central Senatorial District commenced training on Confectionaries and Associated Businesses.

The training which is targeted towards youth empowerment and job creation is facilitated by Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) in collaboration with the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology. The programme is part of Senator Ekwunife’s commitment to human capital development and youth empowerment.

One of the facilitators, Princess Ikwuamaka Nwizu, an entrepreneur and expert in the confectionaries business took participants on steps towards becoming successful in the confectionaries, event planning and management business.

During the practical session, the facilitator took participants through the production process of Sponge Cake, Small Chops, Samusa and Puff Puff. Participants were equally exposed on strategies for reaching their target customers and ensuring business sustainability using modern day technologies.

They were equally taken through the process of fruit juice making and packaging by another facilitator, Ada Yotchy Edward.

You may recall that recently Senator Ekwunife facilitated series of entrepreneurial development programmes which have seen different sets of participants receive trainings on Food Processing, Production, Branding and Packaging as well as the role of MSMEs in Creating Value Addition to Raw Materials.

The success and testimonies of participants of these programmes is a confirmation of Senator Uche Ekwunife’s commitment to human capital development, youth and women empowerment.

Re-echoing the views of some the participants, “Senator Uche Ekwunife has once again shown that she has the interest of her constituents at heart and has through this workshop exhibited practical commitment to the development of the women and youths in her constituency”.

The 2-day workshop will be concluded today, December 18, 2020.
