It was an emotional atmosphere as teeming youths in the five Local Council Development Areas and one LGA that made up Alimosho Federal Constituency, Lagos State, on Sunday converged to honour a business mogul and philanthropist at Akinogun in Mosan-Okunola LCDA.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the teeming youths honoured the renowned philanthropist and businessman, Engr. Akeem Abiodun Ariori, with the title of the Asiwaju of Alimosho.
Bestowing the title on him, youth leaders like Alhaji Waheed, popularly known as Wadeco and Kola Apase among others, described Chief Ariori as a kind hearted man whose interest in youth development has been unquantifiable over the years.
He was commended for his regular empowerment of youths in Alimosho and its environs, ensuring that they are gainfully employed.
Asiwaju Ariori was also praised for providing palliatives for over 500 people on daily basis during the COVID-19 lockdown without being a politician or public office holder.
The youths declared that it was their own little way of showing appreciation to a man, who God has been using for developmental programmes for the youths without political bias.
The overwhelmed new Asiwaju of Alimosho, Ariori, was short of words but thanked the youth leaders for the surprise honour, promising to do more in his philanthropic drive, which he said was his way of appreciating God.
Chief Ariori, who also holds another title of Oganla of Isheri land, has been known for his passion to assist the less privileged in the society without ethnic consideration and this honour may not be a surprise to many who know Oganla.
