6 Ladipo Traders Face Charges For Armed Robbery In Lagos Court

Two brothers, Oluchi Onyebueyi and his brother, Chizoba were among the six Ladipo market traders arrested for their alleged involvement in armed robbery operation in Lagos.
The four other suspects were, Echezona Akachukwu, ishaku Ibrahim, Chinedu Ezebite and Obinwane Nwozuruigbo.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects were arrested at Ladipo market at about 8.00 pm where they threatened and robbed some traders at gun point.
One of the victims they were said to have robbed was Sherif Omoniyi who they robbed of his money and phone before they released him.
However, the suspects were said to be unlucky as unknown to them police detectives were around who saw what happened, rounded them up and arrested them. Their other accomplices fled and were said to be at large..
They were taken to Area D Command, Mushjin where they were initially detained.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the police recovered a local pistol and 8 cartridges which were kept as exhibit at the Command.
They were charged before a Lagos court for assault and robbery under the Criminal Code.
At the Ogba Magistrates court where they were arraigned, their plea was not taken, rather the presiding Magistrate, Mr E.O. Ogunkanmi ordered them to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The court also directed the prosecutor to send their file to DPP advice.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the decision was to determine the actual court that will handle the matter because arms were said to be involved in the robbery.
