Charge and Bail Professional Lands In Jail For False Claims

A 45-year old man, Oyetunde Adebayo, who specialises in bailing of suspects has landed in trouble after he went to court to stand as surety for two suspects.
The man was arrested at the premises of Ikeja Magistrates’ court and arraigned before the court over false claims.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Adebayo went and sworn to an affidavit for the release of the two suspects, Seyi Adebayo and Olaide Oyadokun.
Our correspondent gathered that Adebayo in the affidavit presented before the court, claimed that Seyi Adebayo was his nephew and Olaide Oyadokun his cousin.
However, during verification, the prosecutor discovered that the suspects were not his relations and he was a professional charge and bail who has made such claims in the past.
He was consequently arrested and charged with the alleged offence under the Criminal Code.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsami granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adebayo was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
