Dreaded Criminal, Ikanda Finally Nabbed By Police

The Anambra State Police Command has finally nabbed dreaded criminal, Ikechukwu Udensi, popularly known as Ikanda, who had terrorised Onitsha and environs for a long period.
The Police had declared him wanted over the gruesome murder of a young business man, Ndubuisi Nwokolo, on 29th June, 2018.
Ikanda escaped after the incident which made the Anambra State Government to promise one million Naira (N1,000,000) to anyone who could provide useful information that would lead to his arrest. It was therefore cheering news for Onitsha residents when the news went round that Ikanda has been arrested.
The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Dandaura, while addressing newsmen, paraded the wanted suspect, Ikanda, and six others for various criminal offences, including attack on Ajali Police Station and armed robbery. He said that the Command will not relent in its war against crimes, especially cultism.
P.M.EXPRESS had in the past reported the intimidation, extortion and loss of valuables suffered by the traders and residents in the hands of the dreaded Ikanda Boys and 28-year old Ikechukwu their leader before his previous arrests.
Some of the residents who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS on the condition anonymity praised the effort of the police over the arrest. They however, expressed fear that the Azia-born Ikanda might be left off the hook like it happened in the past without prosecution.
