Election: Lawmaker Shot, Dies In Hospital

The Chairman, House Committee on Urban Development and Regional Planning; lawmaker representing Akinyele/ Lagelu Federal Constituency and Senatorial Candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADC, in the last election, Hon. Temitope Olatoye, has been shot by suspected political thugs.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Hon Olatoye, who is fondly called Sugar, voted today at his Alape village in Ward 13 of Lagelu local government area before he was shot by thugs.

A source who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS on phone said that the lawmaker died after he was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, Oyo State, immediately he was shot.

Hon Temitope Olatoye had last year dumped the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, and joined the Action Democratic Party, ADP, on which platform he ran for the National Assembly election held on Saturday 23rd February, 2019. The lawmaker was defeated in the election by the All Progressives Congress Candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin.
