A 25-year old bar attendant, Mr. Emeka ThankGod, has been arrested by the operatives of Anti-Cultism team with a container of substance suspected to be human blood which he had procured for money rituals in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the arrest was made at a popular joint located at Opebi area of Ikeja, Lagos, where he worked before he was arrested.

The suspect, ThankGod, admitted that he had the substance but claimed that it was one of his friends, Mr. Johnson that gave it to him for spiritual elevation to uplift his condition. But he could not explain why he kept it in his place of work before the management discovered when the substance started smelling and they contacted the police.

Police sources said that a test had not been carried out and there were strong indications that it was human blood. He was unable to reveal what he had wanted to do with it.

According to ThankGod, he hailed from Owerri in Imo State; he finished secondary school before he came to Lagos and started doing cleaning and fumigation jobs before he later got employed at the bar. He said that it was at the bar that he met one Mr. Johnson who told him that his condition was supposed to be better than the level he found him. He then offered to assist him and gave him the substance suspected to blood for ritual purposes. He said that he was disappointed that it did not work as was promised before it started smelling and the management got to know.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that ThankGod was among the suspected criminals paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, at the State Command, Ikeja, Lagos. Other suspected criminals included kidnappers, cultists, defilers, human traffickers among others.

The police boss noted that the arrest of the suspects was as a result of the collaboration between the police and members of the public who provided credible information to the police. He assured the Lagosians that the police will continue to perform better in their bid to get rid of criminal elements and ensure the protection of lives and properties in the State. CP Edgal also warned those who had plans to commit crimes to leave Lagos because there was no hiding place for criminals in the State.
