Man Inflicted Wife With Internal Bleeding After Battering Her

 A house wife, Winfred Chibuzor Olayemi, has been hospitalized after her husband, Eniola Olayemi battered her and inflicted internal injury in her body in Lagos.

The incident happened at Jakande Estate in Isolo area of the state.

Mrs. Olayemi, a mother of three, P.M.EXPRESS gathered, had disagreement with her husband over undisclosed matter in the night which prompted her husband raining heavy blows on her. She fell down in the process and was rushed to the hospital where the doctor confirmed that she had internal bleeding as a result of the assault.

The matter was reported to the police at the Ejigbo division. Mr Olayemi was promptly arrested for unlawful assault.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Mr Olayemi initially denied that he touched his wife until the police referred Winfred to Isolo General Hospital where he was diagnosised  with internal bleeding.

He was subsequently charged before a Lagos Magistrate’s court sitting in Ejigbo with unlawful assault. He however, pleaded not guilty.

The husband informed the court that the complainant was his wife and wanted the matter settled out of court.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted Olayemi bail in the sum N50,000 with two sureties in the like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

The matter was further adjourned for the couple to settle the matter out of court.
