Man Sent To Prison For Stealing N1,500 Baby Food For Their Baby

A 40-year old man Nurudeen Sulaimon has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly stealing baby milk at a super store for their new born baby in Lagos.
The incident happened at Mobil mini mart filling station, hostel bus stop in Egbe area of Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the embattled Sulaimon was under pressure to buy baby milk for his wife to feed their new born baby. However, he had no money and then decided to get it from the store and escape.
The suspect reportedly stole ‘SMA Gold’ and ‘My Boy’ baby milk worth the said amount each. It was gathered that while trying to escape, he was caught by the security men who handed him over to the Police at Ikotun Division.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the owner of the items insisted that he will be charged to court for him to fact the consequences and to serve as deterrent to others who might try such. He was charged before Magistrates court sitting in Ejigbo for stealing under the Criminal Code. He pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola granted him bail in the sum of N10,000 with one surety.
He was however remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition. The matter was adjourned till 8th of October, 2017.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect may stay longer in prison because there was no money to release him on bail by his wife and family.
