Police Woman Battered While Attempting To Arrest Suspect

A police woman attached to the Itire Division, Ganiyat Balogun who went to arrest a male suspect has landed in the hospital in Lagos.

She was brutally attacked, battered and sustained serious injuries.

The incident happened at 32 Ola Street, Itire Lagos where the suspect, Samson Aghedo resided.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that apart from the beating she got, her clothes were torn and was almost half naked before she withdrew, went back to the police station and reported what happened to her.

The Divisional Police Officer, DPO then mobilised his men who went there, arrested Aghedo and detained him in the cell.

At the station, Aghedo denied that he assaulted and tore her clothes but could not explain what happened to her clothes.

He was subsequently charged before Isolo Magistrates court for assault.

He pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Teluo granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 5 February, 2018.
