It appears the men of the underworld have now shifted their focused to churches for survival following recent happenings in Lagos.

Barely weeks that robbers invaded Deeper Life, CAC, Lord’s chosen, Catholic Churches and others to loot, another suspected robber has been arrested at a Celestial Church in Itire area of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the latest suspect, a 48-year old Rafiu Kolawole was arrested at the Celestial church, Babalola Mama Parish located at Mushin Road in Itire where he went to steal church property. However, before he could cart away the property inside the church auditorium he was caught by securitymen who raised alarm and apprehended them.

Kolawole was handed over to the Police at Itire Division who detained him for interrogation.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Kolawole admitted that he actually went into the church to steal but said before he could succeed he was caught and handed over to the police.

It was gathered that Kolawole was asked why he chose to go to a place of worship to steal and he replied that it was the place he knew he would find things to steal these days.

He was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Code.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrates, Mr O.A. Ogbe granted Kolawole bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will fulfill his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 27th of September, 2017.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that many churches have now become security conscious following the latest development. A senior pastor revealed that some churches barely keep much of their valuable especially the offering money in the churches because the criminals do not consider churches as sacred places any longer these days.
