CHUKA UBAH
A male teacher, Olaleye Joseph, has landed in trouble after he canned one of his students, a 16-year old boy, as a corrective measure and he was arrested thereafter.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Camp David Academy located at Bodunrin Caulcrik Close in Ogba, Lagos.
It was gathered that the student committed an undisclosed offence against the regulation of the school and Joseph used a can on him. The student, who suffered some injury as a result, went home and showed his parents the injury he sustained.
The parents, who did not take it lightly, went to the Police at Gender Section of the State Police Command, Ikeja, Lagos and reported the alleged assault on the student.
The Police then arrested the teacher and after interrogation, the teacher, Joseph, was charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 21st October, 2019.
