2 Men Arrested For Defiling 4-Year Old Girl

A 4-year old girl, (name withheld) has narrated how two suspects, a 31-year old Anisere Sulaiman and Kehinde Adedeji, lured her into a room in Lagos and engaged her in sex.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Bale Street and Abosode close in Abesan, Ipaja area of Lagos.

The suspects have been arrested and charged to court where they were ordered to be remanded in prison custody.
Residents who heard about the incident expressed surprise and wondered the motives behind the act. Many read different meanings into it; some said that they may have acted based on directions from a spiritualist.

It was gathered that the defendants lured the victim into a room and engaged her in a romp. They were said to have removed her pant and forced their manhood into her private. The police did not state if they actually penetrated and injured her as some had claimed.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the mother of the 4-year old girl discovered that her private part was tempered with, asked her who did it and she mentioned the suspects.

The matter was reported to the Gender section of the Police Command, Ikeja, Lagos; the suspects were arrested and taken to the Command. It was learnt that the suspects initially denied but when the victim confronted them and they were unable to withstand her, they reportedly confessed but said they did not penetrate her.

The police found them culpable and charged them before Ogba Magistrates court for defilement of the 4-year old.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that their plea was not taken.
The prosecutor sought the order of the court to send their file to DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter E. Nwaka ordered them to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The court also directed the prosecutor to send their file to DPP for advice hence the matter was adjourned till 26 June, 2018 for report of DPP to be ready.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that if the DPP finds them culpable and the court finds them guilty during trial, they will spend up to 15 years or above in prison for the alleged offence.
