3 Suspected Cult Members Arrested For Supplying Weapons To Armed Robbers For Operations

Police intelligence operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested three suspected cult members for allegedly supplying weapons to armed robbers for operations in the South West of Nigeria. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects,  Adenuga Tosin, Jesutofunmi Ezekiel, and Adeniji Juwon, who were said to be members of a notorious secret cult gang, were caught with firearms and ammunition.

 

The suspects were apprehended with the arms along Owode-Ikorodu area by the Police operatives based on gathered intelligence and credible information.

 

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed that arrest of the suspects now in custody undergoing interrogation over their alleged conduct.

CSP Hundeyin said, “The Lagos State Police Command have arrested three members of a suspected syndicate allegedly supplying rifles to different robbery gangs in the South West region.
The suspects, identified as Adenuga Tosin, Jesutofunmi Ezekiel, and Adeniji Juwon, who were said to be members of a notorious secret cult gang, were caught with firearms and ammunition. ”

“Their arrest followed a credible tip-off, which led to a well-coordinated, intelligence-led operation along the Owode-Ikorodu axis by one of the command’s tactical teams.”

The Police image maker explained that during the operation, the suspects were found in possession of a locally made pistol and six live cartridges. When they were interrogated, they were unable to explain satisfactorily before they were arrested and detained for further investigation.

 

According to him, investigations revealed that they were active members of a cult group and they were supplying the arms to armed robbers for operations before they were arrested.

 

He stated that the suspects will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
