Ahead of the July 16 gubernatorial election in Osun state, residents and political leaders in Odo-Otin Local Government Area have hailed the leadership and financial institutions ingenuity of Adegboyega Oyetola, incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, describing him as the shining light of Osun politics.

They also reaffirmed their collective commitment to ensure Oyetola’s reelection, saying any other agenda will plunge Osun into darkness.

The residents described Oyetola as the true light of the state based on his outstanding achievements in his first term in office, adding that whoever else is claiming that honour is an impostor.

This is as the Campaign Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Ifelodun-Boripe-Odo Otin federal constituency continued its strategic consultation in Okuku, Igbaye and Faaji communities of Odo-Otin Local Government Area.

This followed previous engagements in Iba, Obaagun, Aagba, Ororuwo and Ada communities.

The Chairman of the Ifelodun-Boripe-Odo Otin federal constituency Campaign Council, Chief Poju Odusola, charged the residents to brace up for Oyetola’s reelection project to ensure that Osun continues to benefit from dividends of democracy.

In his words: “The onus is on you all to ensure that light continues to shine in Osun. The ball is in your court to ensure that the future of your children is secured, to ensure that the peace of our state is maintained, and that the development of our state continues”.

Also, Special Adviser to Governor Oyetola on Water Resources and Energy, Engr. Felix Ibitoye Adeniran, while addressing canvassers in Faji, said no matter the number of political parties and candidates aspiring to the office of the governor, only Oyetola and APC are able to deliver quality governance that meet the actual needs of the people.

Jimoh Asa, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Odo-Otin Local Government, described Oyetola as a transformer that has illuminated virtually every sector of the state’s economy.

According to him: “Oyetola’s is like a transformer that has supplied power to virtually every sector of the state’s economy. Individuals, groups, local governments and even federal constituencies have continued to get their supplies from the rich experience of Oyetola. Let us support this shining light that has illuminated our state for our own good, because this is a project that God has perfected”.

In their separate remarks, the Councilor of Ward 2, Okuku, Dorcas Adebayo; the Councilor of Ward 3 Councillor, Igbaye, Oyeleke Taofeek; the Councilor of Ward 4, Faji, Olusola Soladoye; lauded Oyetola as an exemplary governor in the progressive family who has shone the light of good governance.

They especially lauded Oyetola for the revitalisation of the Primary Health Centres and Maternity Centres, renovation of community schools and water projects across their communities, saying that the towns and villages under Odo-Otin local government can only get better with Oyetola in the saddle.

They called on residents not to be deceived by the charade of the opposition’s candidate, adding that: “how can anyone claim to be the shining light of Osun when there are shady explanations around his educational qualification and administrative experience? Oyetola is the true shining light whose illuminating power has been evident around the state”.
