The Renewed Hope Amalgamated APC Support Groups met at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, to officially address the need to stop every act of divide and rule and different political scheming for personal interests.
It was a great day for Renewed Hope Amalgamated APC Support groups as a lot of salient issues bordering stakeholders and the way forward on how to champion a leadership of purpose for all support groups in Nigeria were discussed. In the meeting, the groups resolved to be called “Renewed Hope Amalgamated APC Support Groups, the third force for the All Progressives Congress Support groups.
One of the stakeholders, Comrade Okedara Kolawole, gave insight into the discussions at the meeting.
He mentioned that the group said, “We are using this means to call the leadership of the amalgamated groups to order and give them seven days ultimatum to have their full structure put in place from Federal level to States and Local Government, to be publicised by major newspapers”.
“We appeal to the Pioneer Members of AMALGAMATED of APC Support Groups to come together and find lasting solutions to the lingering disputes among them hence the ultimatum.”
“Thank God we have worked as a team and a factor to be identified within APC for all elected members to emerge from the position of President-elect, Vice President-elect, Governors-elect, Senators-elect, members of House of Representatives to the House of Assembly. We now believed it is high time we came out clearly that we are not pleased with the divide and rule tactics of Amalgamated Support group leaders or better still, can we call it autocratic/Oligarchy leadership system of Amalgamated Support groups leaders, who felt they have arrived in the way and manners they are piloting the affairs of Amalgamated Support Groups (AASG) under the present leadership manning it affairs. The leaders have been on loggerhead for power and supremacy since last year; this has jeopardized many opportunities of the entire support groups and dented the image of Amalgamated Support Groups within and outside the party.”
“We want to use this medium to correct the leadership of Amalgamated Support Groups, who at will felt they can do and undo whatever they like with Support Groups national coordinators and director generals of support groups that those days are over.”
“We have tried enough to curtail and manage their insensitivities but it seems the lackadaisical attitude and selfish interest of the present occupiers of factions of the offices call for serious concern.”
“The fact that we recognised the leadership of the amalgamated of Dr Ladan Nasir as presented to us by the National Chairman of our great party, is as a result of our total commitment to the hierarchy of the party because our support groups were given recognition by the National Chairman of the party hence our loyalty to Dr Ladan Nasir remain unblemished, our loyalty is in the interest of our great party as party is supreme.”
“How can the so called amalgamated leadership impose their stooges that are not having any support group nor a national coordinators of support groups? Not only that, how many directorates has committees? All is one-man show. And the so called leaders believes all will be well doing such.”
“We want to appreciate APC NWC for giving all the support groups the recognition to come together under one body. We in Renewed Hope Amalgamated Support Group want to appeal to our national leaders that the issues of National Assembly Leadership is prerogative to each and everyone but Party is supreme. Party supremacy should be considered by all our leaders because whoever that will lead National Assembly must consider Nigeria first. Nigeria is a project that must not fail. This is why our President-Elect would always say one Nigeria through his campaign and we believe, that was why we all fought tooth and nail to vote him into power. National Assembly Leadership is a fragile position that cannot be toyed with. All Zones must be carried along especial North Central being given a sense of belonging so that no one will feel deprived or rejected after giving their best to our great progressive party. We should learn from the past experiences; our party has witnessed enough crisis, we shouldn’t allow such to repeat itself this time around. We are appealing to the present leadership of National Assembly to please use their office to unite our party, the leadership position should not be seen as a do or die affairs. If we are contesting in the interest of the country, why making a fuse?”
“We appeal to the governors and every reasonable leaders of our party to tread softly and respect the supremacy of the party as no individual is above the party, any form of disrespect to the party and any one trying to plunge the country into anarchy.”
“We urge the party to put up disciplinary measures on anyone working against the interest of the party so as to curtail every form of insurbodination.”
“We are calling on the Police, Army and all security outfits to join us as we defend the mandate freely given to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and arrest anyone calling for unrest through any form” the groups asserted.
