Gov Namadi Approves Immediate Payment Of Salary Award To Civil Servants

The Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar A. Namadi, has approved the immediate payment of  salary award of N10, 000  to each Civil Servant as agreed and approved by the State Executive Council for 3 months.
This was contained in a statement signed by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri.
Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri explained that the measure was aimed at cushioning the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy.
“In line with the current realities in the Country and commitment of Governor Namadi’s administration to reduce the effects of removal of the fuel subsidy on the well-being of the good people of Jigawa State, His Excellency Governor Malam Umar Namadi has approved the immediate release of N20, 000 for each public Servant as cash palliative for the month of January and February 2024 respectively to enable workers cope with the economic shocks occasion by the removal of fuel subsidy” the HOS said.
The Head of Service stated that ” Civil Servants will start receiving alert of the 2 months cash palliative (N20,000) from today Monday 4th March, 2024 as directed by His Excellency Governor Malam Umar Namadi, and also by the end of this month Government will pay the remaining one month of March.
Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri added that, Government would soon begin distribution of food palliatives to the Civil Servants, saying already a Committee was constituted to ensure smooth conduct of the exercise.
Accordingly, on the issue of Jigawa Worker Agricultural Support Scheme (JWASS) “Fertilizer and other farm inputs would soon be supplied to Civil Servants as directed by His Excellency Governor Malam Umar Namadi at subsidized and controlled prices” the statement said.
The HOS said, “In fact very soon Government would work out measures to ease transportation to Civil Servants”.
The Head of Service commended Governor Namadi’s favorable disposition to issues relating to the welfare of the Civil Servants in the State, adding that the Governor is the most workers friendly Governor so far the State proud of.
The statement urged workers in the State to reciprocate the kind gestures of Governor Umar Namadi for being the first Governor to pay the cash palliative to the Civil Servant in the northwest geo-political zone.
