Another Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Oliver Buba Kidnapped

Barely few days after gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted a Catholic priest, Rev, Fr. Basil Gbuzuo, serving with the Onitsha Archdiocese, another priest serving with Yola Catholic Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Oliver Buba, has been kidnapped.

The incident occurred during the early hours of Tuesday, 21st May, 2024, in the priest’s rectory at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Bare, in Numan Local Government of Adamawa State.

The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Dami Mamza, who confirmed the incident in a statement called on all Christian faithful and men and women of goodwill to earnestly pray for the quick and safe release of the priest.

“We commend our brother, Very Rev. Fr. Oliver Buba, to the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Priests, for his speedy release from the hands of his abductors,” the statement read.
