The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the Nigeria Air Force have agreed to a joint partnership to host the forthcoming Nigeria International Air Show, scheduled to take place in 2025.

This landmark decision was made during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, at his office in Abuja.

During the visit, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar revealed that the Nigerian Air Force had been independently planning its own air show before he got wind of the Ministry’s similar initiative. Recognizing the immense potential of collaboration, the Air Chief thought of the partnership idea, realizing that a united approach would significantly enhance the event’s impact and reinforce its global appeal.

The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development lauded the Chief of Air Staff’s foresight and his gesture of collaboration, describing it as a critical step towards showcasing Nigeria’s aviation and aerospace capabilities to the world.

In his remarks, Festus Keyamo SAN highlighted the importance of synergy between the Ministry and the Nigerian Air Force in achieving shared objectives.

To ensure the seamless planning and execution of the event, the duo jointly announced the establishment of an eight-member committee. The committee, comprising representatives from both the Ministry and the Nigerian Air Force, has been tasked with coordinating all aspects of the Air Show, including logistics, international collaborations, and stakeholders’ engagement.

The 2025 Nigeria International Air Show is expected to attract global players in aviation and aerospace, including manufacturers, investors, regulators, and enthusiasts. It promises to be a platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies, fostering partnerships, and exploring opportunities for the advancement of Nigeria’s aviation sector.

With this partnership, Nigeria is set to create a world-class event that will not only spotlight the nation’s aviation and aerospace industries but also drive economic growth, innovation, and international recognition.
