2027 Not On Tinubu’s Mind For Now – Bwala Says

Nigeria will not experience recent fate of Ghana’s hitherto ruling party in the West African country, where it lost the just concluded presidential election. This was dismissed by the Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications/Spokesperson to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Hon. Daniel Bwala on Wednesday, December 11 during a visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja.

The Spokesperson to Mr. President, while dismissing such notion arising from various questions from journalists at the Party’s Secretariat, stated that the two countries do not share similar experience in terms of governance deliverables. He further affirmed that Mr. President is not bothered about the 2027 politicking for now as good governance and retooling the country from her economic doldrums remains top priority in the mind of Mr. President.

His words, “The idea of the ruling party losing election, it will not happen because Nigerian people are seeing what the administration is doing because Nigerian people only care about the things they are confronted by everyday. As long as those things that matter to them on the dinner table are dealt with, Nigerian people will always be with you and that is what Mr. President is doing…Mr. President’s agenda, which is working well is what would naturally endear the Nigerian people to vote him for another term. And Mr. President eminently and constitutionally is more than qualified to run for second term”.

Also speaking on cash scarcity currently being experienced in some parts of the country, Hon. Bwala assured Nigerians that the challenge would soon frizzle out as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is on top of the situation to avert cash crisis even though it may well mean the government may be trying to ensure Nigerians embrace, more than ever before, cashless transactions within the economy.

“It may well mean that government is encouraging the people to take advantage of the e-transaction which will help us in the long run. Most countries of the world, I am not saying that is the policy. I’m only assuming; most countries of the world, you see less people using cash and most people using the online platforms to do transactions. I believe that the CBN will work out this but I encourage Nigerian people to take advantage of platforms that are also available to do transactions,” he further submitted.

On the much-talked-about hunger in the country, the Presidential Aide averred Mr. President is leaving no stone unturned in addressing the issue frontally. One of such moves recently was the creation of the Ministry of Livestock as part of many steps being taken by the administration to address food security in the country.

“The issue of hunger is taken seriously by Mr. President as could be seen even in the recently concluded G20 Summit in Brazil. Mr. President has said addressing food insecurity is a top priority for his government” Hon. Bwala enthused.

Speaking on his purported return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the recent insinuation that he’s been sidelined within the corridors of power, the Presidential Spokesperson dismissed the latter, describing same as a figment of imagination of mischiefmakers while submitting that he did not at any point leave the party in the first place as he never tore his membership card.

“I ne’er left the APC. I left angrily and didn’t remember to tear my card. My ward is at Garki. If you need my chairman’s contact, I’ll give you” he said.
