Manager Docked For Using Ghost Workers To Swindle Company Of Over N2.1m Monthly 

A 45-year old manager of D Breeze Protection Service, Kolawole Dawodu, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly used ghost workers to swindle the company to the tune of over N2.1m monthly before he was caught.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the company’s office located at 219 Ikorodu Road, Ilupeju, Lagos State.

According to the Police, the suspect had collected the ghost workers salary between July 2024 and 7th April, 2025, before the company conducted an internal audit and discovered the alleged scam.

The matter was reported to the Police at Ilupeju Division. The suspect was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

“That you, Kolawole Dawodu and others now at large between July 2024 and April 7th 2025 at Ikorodu Road, Ilupeju Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit obtaining money under false pretence and stealing and thereby committed and offence punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015.”

Count II:”That you, Kolawole Dawodu, on same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magistrerial district, did obtain total sum of Two Million One Hundred and Fifty Thousan Naira only (N2,150,000.00) from D Breeze Protection Service by including some names who are ghost workers into the payroll of D Breeze Protection Service, a representation you know to be false and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 314 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

Count III:”That you, Kolawole Dawodu and others now  at same place, time and date, did conspire and stole N2,150,000.00 belonging to D Breeze Protection Service and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 (7) of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

However, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
