Posted on September 25, 2025

The Orashi National Congress, ONC, has pledged its commitment to collaborate with Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) in the fight against pipeline vandalism in the Orashi region and across Rivers State, and also commended the management of the Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Ltd for holding regular stakeholders meeting.

This pledge was made today during a stakeholders’ engagement meeting organized by PINL, aimed at strengthening community relations and addressing the persistent issue of pipeline sabotage.

Ambassador Ibe stated, “Your laudable efforts are having positive impacts on our environment and area, as there is total reduction of pipeline vandalism in Orashi region”.

Speaking further with our correspondent, the President General of the Orashi National Congress, Amb. Comr. Emeni Ibe, reiterated the longstanding stance of the Congress against vandalism and its readiness to work with all relevant agencies to end the menace.

“We have been on this course for a long time. Vandalism is not a good thing; it brings economic loss, environmental degradation, and endangers lives,” Amb. Ibe said.

“The Orashi National Congress will work hand-in-hand with PINL and other relevant agencies to carry out continuous sensitization across the region. We must engage our communities and educate our people on the dangers and consequences of pipeline vandalism.”

Amb. Ibe emphasized that the ONC is not just a socio-cultural body but also a proactive voice for peace, development, and security in the region. He called on traditional rulers, youth groups, and community stakeholders to join hands in creating awareness and protecting national assets.

The stakeholders’ meeting also featured discussions on sustainable development, security partnerships, and the need for community ownership of oil and gas infrastructure. PINL representatives expressed gratitude for ONC’s support and emphasized the company’s commitment to working with local organizations for mutual benefit.

The collaboration between ONC and PINL is expected to birth a series of grassroots engagements, town hall meetings, and awareness campaigns focused on protecting critical infrastructure and promoting community peace.
