Int’l Day For The Eradication Of Poverty: BAT-KOHrrect Commends President Tinubu, Announces Food Outreach To 1000 Families

Posted on October 18, 2026

As the world commemorates the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, marked every October 17, BAT-KOHrrect joins the United Nations, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and all well-meaning citizens to reflect on the global fight against poverty and to renew our collective commitment to building a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.

In a statement Sunday signed by Mr. Victor Ganzallo, National Coordinator, BAT-KOHrrect, the group used the occasion to unequivocally commend His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his courageous, reform-driven, and people-centered efforts to make life better for ordinary Nigerians.

“We note with appreciation that despite inheriting difficult economic challenges, the Tinubu administration has not shied away from taking bold decisions necessary for long-term prosperity. Through various strategic initiatives, the government has demonstrated genuine empathy for the vulnerable,” the statement said.

The group listed the interventions to include the sustained expansion of Social Investment Programmes and conditional cash transfers, the Presidential Palliative Programme and wage awards, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CreditCorp), massive investments in agriculture and food security, and support for MSMEs, youth enterprise and job creation.

“These interventions are clear evidence that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan, but a deliberate and practical roadmap to lift millions out of poverty and restore Nigeria’s economic dignity,” it added.

In practical support of the Federal Government’s poverty alleviation drive, and in the spirit of this International Day, BAT-KOHrrect will be carrying out a humanitarian outreach to distribute food items, staples, and essential relief materials to 1,000 vulnerable families in selected communities.

“This outreach is our token of solidarity with Mr. President and a demonstration that nation-building is a collective task,” Ganzallo said.

BATKOHrrect is a grassroots socio-political movement and citizens’ support network built on the firm conviction that BAT is on the CORRECT path for Nigeria.

“The name is our philosophy: We stand to CORRECT the false narratives, to CORRECT the distortions about governance, and to DIRECT the people towards correct information about the policies and achievements of the Renewed Hope administration,” Ganzallo explained.

He added: “We are more than a political support group. We are a movement for Grassroots Mobilization & Civic Education, Narrative Correction & Media Advocacy, Youth & Women Empowerment, Humanitarian Service, and Good Governance & Accountability.

“Our members are drawn from across the 36 states -students, artisans, professionals, market women, entrepreneurs and patriotic Nigerians who believe Nigeria will be great again under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We call on all Nigerians to remain hopeful, patient, and united. The journey to eradicate poverty is not an overnight one, but with consistent reforms and collective support, we will get there. God bless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
