The Plights Of Patients: CLO Appeals To NMA Over Strike

CHUKA UBAH
Civil Liberties Organization, CLO, Anambra State branch, has pleaded with
Nigeria Medical Association Anambra State branch to call off their strike
over government’s inability to implement their agreement over gradual
implementation of Consolidated Salary Structure for medical doctors.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as contained in a press statement endorsed by Comrades Vincent Ezekwueme and Chidi Mba, Chairman and Secretary respectively.
CLO
pleaded with the medical doctors to remember their physicians oath to
save life and avoidable loses of lives in view of recent health
challenges in the country.
“As divine instruments in God’s healing process and indispensable and
invaluable factor, we most heartily appeal to our revered and respected medical
doctors to call off the strike for the sake of God and humanity that will bear
the severe consequences of the strike.”
They
pleaded that they should return to the negotiation table and for the State to
judiciously implement the agreement reached with medical doctors to ensure
industrial harmony and peace.
Similarly, CLO has pleaded with Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of National
Inland Waterways Authority, Chief Dr. George Muoghalu, to probe alleged
construction of Motor Park at Niger Bridge near Onitsha River Port.
It will be recalled that during the stakeholders meeting with Dr. Muoghalu, the issue was raised. Dr Muoghalu should beam his searchlight over the encroachment of government land. The park will constitute a nuisance and threat to the River Port. CLO therefore, appeals to Dr. Muoghalu to do the needful and restore normalcy.
