The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Dr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun, has provided face masks in large quantities to the people of Ikeja as well as community stakeholders in a bid to contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
This is coming after the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, announced the ‘Mask-up Lagos Campaign. Considering the fact that lockdown will be relaxed in Lagos State with effect from May 4, 2020, there is a need to follow up on the ‘Mask up Lagos campaign as it has now been made mandatory for all Lagosians to move about with their face masks.

Before now, the Council boss, Dr. Mojeed Balogun, had produced hand sanitizers for the people of Ikeja communities, shared food items to cushion the effect of the lockdown and the production of face masks is another laudable move in the fight against further spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
”It is imperative for us to have our face mask at each and every point in time, and wherever we go to. This is one of the ways through which we can reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community” the Council Chairman said.

The face masks provided were presented to community stakeholders which included the Police community, Community Associations, Market Associations, the youth as well as other members of the Ikeja community.
The face masks, numbering tens of thousands, which are expected to be distributed across the six wards in Ikeja Local Government Area, were also presented to Ikeja APC Chairman, Alhaji Dally Adeokun.
