Aisha Buhari In New York To Attend 71st UN General Assembly

For the first time, President Mohammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha Buhari, will be attending an official event together outside the country since the coming of this administration.
The first couple, though traveled separately, is already in New York, United States.
Later Monday, Mrs. Buhari, who is also on another week-long visit to the United States, will be meeting with United Nations hosted organisation, Stop TB Partnership on the sideline of the 71st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 71) holding in New York, United States.
A statement by her aide, Zaynab Kassim, announced the arrival of the wife of the president and her participation at the global meeting.
Mrs. Buhari is an ambassador of the Stop TB Partnership promotes the eradication of Tuberculosis world wide.
Kassim’s statement read: “Mrs. (Aisha) Buhari who is an ambassador of the Stop TB campaign has decried the position of Nigeria as having the highest rates of TB and the lowest detection rates. This meeting is part of a series of meetings Mrs Buhari will be attending as part of her week long visit to the 71st United Nations General Assembly.
President Buhari is already attending the UNGA71 session holding at the New York headquarters of the Assembly.
