The President General of notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress (ONC), Ambassador Emeni Ibe JP AP, has commended the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with Aradel Holdings Plc, for successfully implementing the Aradel Holdings/HPTP Turnkey Drilling Services Human Capacity Development (HCD) Training Programme.
Reacting to the close-out ceremony held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Ambassador Emeni Ibe described the initiative as a strategic investment in Nigeria’s human capital and a practical demonstration of commitment to the objectives of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGIC) Act.
According to him, the programme goes beyond enhancing the operational capacity of the oil and gas industry. It also creates opportunities for Nigerian youths, strengthens indigenous participation, and contributes significantly to sustainable socio-economic development.
“The partnership between NCDMB and Aradel Holdings Plc is highly commendable. This initiative is not only beneficial to the companies involved but also to host communities, where empowering local youths with technical and vocational skills promotes employment, innovation, and community development,” Ambassador Ibe stated.
He further praised the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), the Board’s Human Capacity Development Department, represented by General Manager Madam Alexis Emelle, Aradel Holdings Plc, and the training partners for their unwavering commitment to developing competent Nigerian professionals capable of competing globally.
Ambassador Ibe urged other operators in the oil and gas sector to emulate this model by investing more in human capital development, especially within host communities, noting that such investments are critical to achieving lasting peace, economic growth, and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
He congratulated all the trainees who successfully completed the programme and encouraged them to utilize the knowledge and skills acquired to contribute meaningfully to the growth of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and national development.
