ANA Lagos Dissolves Executive Council, Setup Caretaker Committee

The Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA) on Saturday dissolved its Lagos Executive Council following the expiration of its tenure.
Former chairman of the association, Dr Tolu Ajayi who headed the assembly announced the inauguration of a caretaker committee to manage the affairs of the ANA Lagos for the next three months before the emergence of new executive members.
The outgoing executive of ANA Lagos was inaugurated in August 2017 and in line with the constitution of the association, the tenure of the outgoing executive elapsed on October 2019.
“The association’s constitution provides that an executive member of an association shall hold his/her office for a period of four years.
“Upon the expiration of their tenure in office, the present Lagos Executive Council of Association of Nigeria Authors stands dissolved in accordance with ANA Lagos constitution.
The committee which comprises of three women and two men led by Iquo Diana Abasi as the chairman while Ifeanyi Avajjah, Awele Ilusanmi, CM Okonkwo and Olusanya Anjorin remain members of the caretaker committee.
In his remark, the former chairman, Mr Adeyemi Adebiyi on behalf of the 2017- 2019 Exco, thanked all the members of ANA Lagos for their cooperation they enjoyed during their tenure.
“We hope the incoming exco. when put in place, will enjoy better cooperation. Our thanks go to the past chairmen who stood by us and did not abandon the clan”.
“We sincerely thank Akin Adeoya for his extraordinary assistance that enabled us to claim the little success we achieved. I hereby pledge my support and those of the exco members to the Caretaker Committee. Let us all toe the path that will make ANA LAGOS great,” he said.
In the same vein, the chairman of the caretaker committee, Iquo Diana Abasi, however, commended the outgoing executive members for keeping with the tenets of the association while in office not leaving out every member of ANA Lagos.
“I would like to thank every member of ANA Lagos for the vote of confidence that led you to select this caretaker committee”.
“I assure you that my team members and I accept this call to duty with a high sense of responsibility. We plan to carry out a seamless transition, in the shortest time possible – with the support of the immediate past exco and all the distinguished members of ANA Lagos”.
