Anambra Lawmakers Pass Vote Of Confidence On Speaker

The Anambra State House of Assembly has continued to set right and positive paces for others to emulate. Particularly, the Leadership of the House, under the firm control of Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu, has distinguished itself, setting a new record in Legislative Crisis Management. 

Madam Speaker, who is also a Learned Lawyer, has emboldened the laws in her conduct and utterances.

It was this consideration and more that led her colleagues to pass a Vote Of Confidence on her leadership. Recall that Madam Speaker had, in the course of the unanticipated conundrum maintained that;

 

– Protesting Legislators were driven more by political consideration than Legislative interest.

 

– Their “sincere” agitation should not be placed above the collective interest and peace of the State.

 

– They had Legal and Political alternatives to seeking for redress.

 

– The legislature cannot be used as a tool for personal vendetta or political reprisals.

 

– There is no alternative to peace. Even when the errant Legislators attempted to muscle their way through inappropriate legislative conducts.

 

– She has continued to enjoy the support of Majority of her colleagues who stood firm against her purported impeachment.

 

Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu continues to signpost the best form of diplomacy. To her credit, the House is back in top gear as one independent and indivisible entity.
