Another 7 Pregnant Girls Rescued By Police

The Police in Lagos have intensified efforts to get rid of human trafficking by rescuing additional seven pregnant young girls kept in baby factories in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that this came barely few days after 19 pregnant girls were rescued from various baby factories in Lagos.
This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, who stated that the victims were rescued on 2nd October, 2019, at about 1.00am, at Cele Bus Stop along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos.
He said that the Isolo Police Station received Information that seven pregnant young girls were seen stranded at Cele Bus Stop along Oshodi- Apapa Expressway, Lagos. Hence a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer Isolo, CSP Folorunsho Gabriel, mobilised to the area and rescued them.
DSP Elkana stated that the victims were between ages 13 and 27. Five of them are from Imo State, the remaining two are from Abia and Rivers States respectively. A child of about 2years was also rescued. They were all handed over to NAPTIP for further investigation.
DSP Elkana had stated that the previous victims were rescued from four different locations, which included: No. 32 Owosho Street, Governor’s Road, Ikotun; No. 29 Olugbeyohun Street, Olakunle Bus Stop Abaranja; No. 4/6 Anomo Street, Abaranja and the aforementioned address.
