APGA Leadership Tussle Resolved By The Supreme Court

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has said that the party is thrilled to announce that the Supreme Court has resolved the leadership tussle in APGA and has affirmed the leadership of Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa.

In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara PhD, the APGA said, “This landmark decision is a testament to the judiciary’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice is served”.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Judiciary, particularly the Chief Justice of Nigeria, His Lordship, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, for restoring great faith in the judiciary. Your leadership and dedication to justice are truly commendable.”

“We also thank our National Leader, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for his unwavering support and guidance. Your leadership has been instrumental in shaping our party’s vision and values.”

“To the BOT and NWC members of our great party, we appreciate your tireless efforts and commitment to our shared ideals.”

“The Supreme Court’s decision has laid to rest any doubts about the leadership of our party. The key precepts of the Supreme Court’s decision are as follows:

– *Validation of APGA Leadership of Barr SLY Ezeokenwa*: The Supreme Court affirmed that it never pronounced Edozie Njoku as National Chairman in its judgment of 14/10/2021 and its correction of incidental slip made on 24/3/2023.
– *No Enforcement*: The Court held that there was nothing in its judgment capable of being enforced by Edozie Njoku.
– *Abuse of Court Process*: The Supreme Court declared that the suit filed by Edozie Njoku’s proxies at the FCT High Court Bwari was an abuse of court process.
– *Validation of Chief Victor Ike Oye’s Chairmanship*: The Court found that Chief Victor Ike Oye was the National Chairman of APGA by its judgment earlier delivered.
– *Condemnation of Edozie Njoku’s Conduct*: The Court castigated Edozie Njoku for trying to input into the judgment of the Supreme Court what the court never said.
– *Setting Aside Contempt Conviction*: The Supreme Court set aside the judgment of the trial High Court and the Court of Appeal on the contempt conviction of Prof Mahmud Yakubu and Chief Victor Ike Oye.
– *Costs Awarded*: The Court awarded costs of 20 million against Edozie Njoku in each of the 3 appeals, totaling 60 million.
