There was serious protest on Monday morning by residents after a BRT bus killed two pupils going to school in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

The incident happened at Ogolonto bus terminal in Ikorodu, Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the death of the pupils sparked crisis in the area as some BRT buses were said to have been attacked and people attempted to burn them.

This was yet to be confirmed by the officials of BRT who were still reluctant to speak on the matter when contacted.

When our correspondent contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Chike Oti, he confirmed the incident but said he had not received the details on the matter yet.

According to residents, the pupils were going to school in the morning when the BRT bus which was on a high speed ran over them and they died at the spot. They were taken to a hospital where the doctors merely confirmed them dead.

Following their death, the residents trooped out to the streets protesting and condemning the activities of the BRT drivers. It was gathered that the residents were angry with the BRT drivers over the way they behaved and drove recklessly on the highway without regard to the residents.

The incident temporary slowed down business activities in the area until the police moved in and restored normalcy.
