Buruj Academy’s Abdulbaseet Shines For Borehamwood

Borehamwood FC manager, Luke Gerrard, has tipped Buruj Sports Academy’s kid bomber, AbdulBaseet Adebayo, to shine on the big stage in a not too distant future following his superb display in the 2-1 win against Reading on Wednesday.

The fast-paced game stood at 0-1 when AbdulBaseet who is presently undergoing trials at the English Conference side was thrown into the fray in the 60th minute and few minutes after coming on provided the classy assist from the left wing for the striker to slot in the winner.

The 13-year old who can play as a wing back or attacking midfielder was the thorn in the flesh of Reading Academy defenders until final whistle and watching on keenly from the sidelines, the technical crew of Borehamwood must have seen enough evidence about his potentials to consider him for developmental process just like they did for the duo of Ignatius Akuba and Noah Salaudeen last year.

The CEO of Buruj Sports Academy was also full of plaudits for the young lad who he said his management will continue to support through his evolution to attain lofty heights in the round-leather game.

The management of Ikorodu-based academy vowed to ship more players to England and other European countries like Spain, Italy and Turkey before the end of the year. Registration for Turkish Football Festival is currently ongoing and players will be selected on first come, first serve basis.
