Buruj Crashes Out In Semi-Final Of Welsh Super Cup

Buruj Sports Academy lost their semi-final match at the ongoing Welsh International Super Cup on Saturday afternoon after they were defeated 2-0 by Cardiff and Vale College Academy inside the Sports Complex of Cardiff City University.

The Nigerian representatives, who lost their final group game against Pentwyn Dynamos on Friday after winning their first group games on Thursday, failed to click in the highly explosive semi-final after being depleted with injuries worries before and during the match.

A goal-a-piece in each half ensured that the Cardiff based team will play the final on Sunday against a yet to be ascertained opponents as at the time of filing this report, while Buruj Boys will settle for the Challenge match against St. Joseph FC to round off the tour of the United Kingdom which began in Manchester about close to weeks ago.

It would be recalled that in their opening group game of the competition, Buruj Boys defeated St. Joseph by 2-1 before they blew away Cardiff Draconians 4-0 to top their group leading to the semifinals.

The 2019 edition of the tournament that has produced so many football stars like Stephen Gerrard and Michael Owen amongst others in the past three decades will be concluded with the final and challenge games in different age categories on Sunday.
