Community Development: Bishop of Ozubulu Embarks On Road Construction
A philanthropist and the founder of Ebubechukwuzo Foundation, High Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu, popularly known as Bishop of Ozubulu has embarked on construction of community roads, a bridge and installation of street lights.
Bishop had maintained that government alone cannot fix the problems of the people and that good spirited individuals should contribute their quota towards alleviating the problems experienced by their different communities.
High Chief Ikegwuonu reiterated this when he inspected various projects he embarked on recently in and around his community in Anambra State. One of the roads included the Ofufe Amakwa Ozubulu Road in Ekwusigo Local Government Area which was constructed up to Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government Area, with the link bridge which had collapsed about 25 years ago which has been completed. The road was tarred up to 12km with the dredging of the river.
Also inspected was HRH Igwe Fidelis Nnamdi Oruche, Okife II of Ozubulu Road Amakwa which linked Three Corner Nza with drainage on both sides getting ready for asphalting. All these roads were singlehandedly sponsored, funded and constructed by the founder of Ebubechukwuzo Foundation,
High Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu.
The philanthropiat has also undertaken to reconstruct fences, buildings and electricity poles affected during the road constructions.
In an interview, High Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu said “It’s good to buy the latest Bentley or Rolls Royce Phantom as a young man. But i strongly believe that it’s better to use the money to better the condition of my people and those living around me, especially when I know that such cars will not last for too long as their models will fade away. But these roads when constructed with the highest quality will last for a lifetime”
He enjoined other individuals to think home and in the direction of complementing the efforts of government as government alone cannot solve all the problems.
