Comrade Dauda Leads Ikeja Leaders & Executives To Condole With Baba Eto Over The Passing Of His Wife

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), yesterday led the apex leaders of Ikeja and members of the Executive Council on a condolence visit to Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku, popularly known as Baba Eto, following the passing of his beloved wife, Hon. Oloye Olanisimi Odunmbaku, who departed this life on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 59. 
The late Hon. Olanisimi Odumbaku was a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in Ondo State, renowned for her kindness, compassion and unwavering dedication to charity, public service and the empowerment of women.
The Ikeja Council Chairman was accompanied by prominent Ikeja apex leaders, including Chief Funso Ologunde, Apostle Olowoporoku and Prince Oluranti Olufon. Also on the visit were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Secretary to the Local Government, Prince Adeyinka Illo; members of the Legislative Arm led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Rasheed Adisa Ogunseye; Supervisory Councillors; Special Advisers; and other officials of the Local Government.
Speaking on behalf of the Ikeja apex leaders, Chief Funso Ologunde described the late Hon. Oloye Olanisimi Odumbaku as a virtuous and exceptional woman whose life was devoted to serving humanity. He encouraged Baba Eto and the entire Odunmbaku family to take solace in the impactful life she lived and prayed that Almighty God would grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
During the visit, the Ikeja LG Boss, Comrade Dauda presented the official condolence letter to Baba Eto on behalf of the Executive, Management and Staff of Ikeja Local Government.
He expressed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family, praying that God would comfort them in this difficult period and grant the departed soul eternal rest. He noted that while the loss is painful, the exemplary legacy of love, service and generosity left behind by the deceased will continue to inspire generations to come.
