CULT BOYS GO ON RAMPAGE

Posted on February 17, 2018

It was a night of horror for residents of Awka, the capital of Anambra State on Friday 16th of February, 2018, as cult boys unleashed terror on anyone in sight.

The rampaging cult boys made it a horrific night for those living along MTN office down to Jet Petrol Filling station, (Zik’s Avenue Awka).

The boys in their numbers brandished axes and all kinds of dangerous weapons as they chanted different songs on top of their voices. The cult boys had been unleashing mayhem on innocent people for some time now.

Last week, a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka was shot dead in what was perceived in some quarters as a hit from a rival cult group.

A resident who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS said that they have been worried about their safety for some time now especially at night.

“It’s high time Governor Obiano took a serious action against those cult boys.
We are fast going back to those days when we slept with one eye opened. Awka is no longer safe” he said.

It was not clear which of the cult groups that were having issues between themselves which led to the onslaught by their members. But P.M.EXPRESS findings revealed that they were not students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University as many had thought, they were reportedly said to be young Awka indigenes who were members of local cult groups.

The residents are however appealing to State government and the security agencies to intervene and ensure the security of lives and properties especially in the night around the state capital.
