Ekwunife Mourns Founder Of DAAR Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, CON, has extended condolences to the family, friends and staff of Chief Raymond Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications and owner of AIT and Ray Power FM who passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023.
 
Ekwunife paid tribute to the elder statesman, an icon of Nigerian media industry and a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying that the death of the veteran media entrepreneur is both a colossal loss to the sector, and great loss to our country.
The Federal lawmaker noted that Chief Dokpesi was an accomplished business mogul, respected and detribalised Nigerian who left an indelible footprints in Nigeria’s political and economic development with the establishment of the first privately owned radio station and first private television network in Nigeria as well as Africa’s first private satellite television. She recognised that the Edo state-born businessman created jobs for many Nigerians and positively touched many lives.
Ekwunife, while further stating that Chief Dokpesi was a kind-hearted soul, good-spirited man, and rich in content of character, expressed that he was steadfast in his love, and for the unity and development of the nation.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation on behalf of her family and the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District extended her condolences to the people and government of Edo state as well as the management of DAAR Communications and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.
