Emma Onyekuba Buried Amid Tears, Eulogies

With heavy hearts amid tears and eulogies, the family of Late Peter Nnanwuba Onyekuba of Umunnoke village, Amenyi, Awka in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Friday 15th November, 2019, laid to rest one of their beloved, Emmanuel Udozor Onyekuba.
The deceased, popularly known as Onyemali Ifvegaeseokwu, reportedly passed on aged 57 years after a brief illness in an Onitsha hospital, where he was moved for treatment.
The burial rites commenced on Thursday 14th November, 2019, with a vigil. On Friday, after the lying in state and ‘itu akwa’ rites by in-laws, friends, associates and family, the burial service kicked off around 10am.
During the burial service officiated by Pastor Oguguo Nwokwu of the Udoka Christian Family, the Presiding Minister reminded all present about the fact that we are all alive because of the grace of God and not necessarily because of good deeds. He described the deceased as an embodiment of peace, who will stop at nothing in maintaining peace at any given time.
After the burial service, the remains of Mr. Emmanuel Onyekuba was interred in his compound after prayers by the graveside by the Presiding Minister, Oguguo.
Thereafter, in-laws, friends, associates and relations took their turns in the traditional condolence visit rites followed by recognition and entertainment of guests.
In an emotion laden voice, the immediate brother to the deceased, Mr. Ikechukwu Onyekuba, told P.M.EXPRESS correspondent that the loss of his elder brother was huge but the family believes that God knows best and have accepted it as the will of God.
