Fake 174 Battalion Soldier Arrested By Police

Men of the Ogun State Police Command on Sunday 5th May, 2019, arrested a 31-year old fake soldier, Jolly Gilbert.

The fake soldier was arrested during a raid of criminal hideouts and black spots at Eyin ogbe area of ogijo. He was arrested along with two others at the hideout in military camouflage shirt.

On interrogation, the suspect claimed to be a solder serving with 174 Battalion of the Nigerian Army.  A signal was then sent to the Battalion to authenticate his claim and it was revealed that the suspect was a fake soldier.

Recovered from him were: a soldier identity card, a jack knife, military hardware and assorted charms.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police CP Bashir Makama, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) for discreet investigation and subsewuent prosecution.
