Posted on December 11, 2024

As the Future Eagles gear up for their international friendlies against Morocco, Raheem Salaudeen, the talented midfielder from Buruj FC, is set to showcase his skills on a grand stage.

The matches, scheduled for December 12th and 15th at the Complexe Mohammed VI de Football, will be the first major international test for the team since the inception of the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

For the young Raheem, this opportunity represents a significant step in his young career. Known for his composure on the ball and ability to dictate play from midfield, he has been a standout player at Buruj FC, where his development has been carefully guided.

Speaking ahead of the trip, Raheem reflected on his journey so far.

“Wearing the national jersey is a dream I’ve worked hard for,” he said. “I’m ready to give everything to represent Nigeria and show what I can do. This is not just an opportunity for me but for every player on this team to prove ourselves.”

Raheem’s rise to the Future Eagles highlights the growing impact of structured youth development programs in Nigeria.

As a product of Buruj FC, his selection underscored the role grassroots clubs play in identifying and nurturing talent. His presence in the squad is a testament to his dedication and the quality of training he has received.

The 14-year-old midfielder joined 21 other talented players as part of the delegation heading to Morocco.

These games are more than just friendlies; they serve as a platform to prepare for future competitions like the U17 AFCON and FIFA U17 World Cup. For Raheem, they also mark a chance to compete against international opposition and further hone his skills.

“I know these matches will be tough, but it’s an opportunity to grow and learn,” Raheem added. “We’re ready to give it our all.”

As the team departed for Morocco, the spotlight will undoubtedly be on players like Raheem Salaudeen, who represent the future of Nigerian football and the promise of better days ahead.
