Hon Segun Odunmbaku Honoured As Digital Local Government Chairman Of The Year

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has once again earned national recognition as he was honoured today in Abuja with the prestigious award of Digital Local Government Chairman of the Year. The commendation came from the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), with the Director General, Mr. D.I. Arabi, presenting the award at the Federal Secretariat.

The recognition is a significant endorsement of Hon. Odunmbaku’s transformative leadership, especially in deploying digital systems to enhance governance, service delivery, education and civic engagement at the grassroots level. Mr. Arabi applauded the Ojodu helmsman for demonstrating what he described as “innovation-led governance,” advising the Mayor to be relentless with his policies as they align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda especially the Soilless and Hydroponics Farming Programme, TCK Digital Skills Training for Pupils alongside the ICT and Vocational trainings for Youths, noting that technology and AI-driven solutions remain crucial to government reforms and improved accountability nationwide.

Odunmbaku, in his acceptance remarks, thanked the Bureau for the honour and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding digital capacity among Ojodu residents, particularly the youth. He highlighted ongoing and upcoming programmes focused on digital training like upskilling and reskilling to empower young people for global competitiveness.

The award ceremony was attended by key BPSR Directors, Atinuke Ajiboye – (Director , Corporate Services), Philomema Okororie – (Deputy Director , Corporate Services), Yunusa Abdul – (Head , Reform Coordination Dept) Paul Zira – Asst Director ( Reforms Coordination Dept) and other senior officials who praised Ojodu LCDA as a model of modern-day council administration.

The recognition further consolidates Hon. Odunmbaku’s status as one of Nigeria’s most forward-thinking grassroots leaders and reinforces his agenda of technology-driven development and youth empowerment.
