How Former NIJ Student Attacked Lecturer, Dr Omojuyigbe Over Carry Over

A lecturer and Deputy Provost of the Nigeria Institute of Journalism, (NIJ) Ogba, Lagos, Dr Dele Omojuyigbe, had a nasty experience after his former student, Tersoo Achineku, went to his office, attacked him verbally and threatened to kill him because of the carry over he had 10 years ago.
Police operatives from the Area G Command, Ogba, have arrested the suspect, Achineku and charged before the Court.
According to the Police, Achineku went to Omojuyigbe’s office at the school premises, started shouting and abusing him, threatening to kill him over the carry over he had on the Course he taught at that time.
He was said to have shouted and disturbed the peace at the school premises before the Police were contacted and he was arrested and detained at the Command for interrogation.
During interrogation, he told the Police that Omojuyigbe failed him in his course when he was a student in the school and he had carry over which affected his education. It was not certain if he was frustrated out of the school due to the carry over he claimed he had in those days.
However, after interrogation, the Police found culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged threat and disturbance.
When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Dada Wasiu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence that brought him before the Court.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Fagbohun, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in the Correctional Centre pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 31st May, 2022, for mention
