Ìṣẹ̀ṣé Day Is More Than A Public Holiday – Says Hon. Odunmbaku
The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon Segun Odunmbaku, has said that Ìṣẹ̀ṣé Day is more than a public holiday.
In his remarks, while marking the Ìṣẹ̀ṣé Day, the Ojodu Mayor, Odunmbaku said, “I join millions of Yorùbá sons and daughters across the world to celebrate Ìṣẹ̀ṣé Day – a day set aside to honour our roots, preserve our traditions and celebrate the richness of our cultural and spiritual heritage”.
“Ìṣẹ̀ṣé Day is more than a public holiday; it is a reminder of who we are as a people, our origin, and the sacred duty we owe to our ancestors in preserving their legacies for generations yet unborn.”
“It is also a day when the rhythms of our local drums, the chants in our shrines, the dances of our masquerades, the libations of our traditional worshippers and the blessings of our royal fathers combine as renewed hope to reaffirm the strength of our identity as a people.”
“I felicitate with all traditional leaders, custodians of culture, and residents of Ojodu LCDA on this auspicious occasion. May the wisdom of our ancestors continue to guide us, and may our land prosper in unity, peace and progress.”
“Ìṣẹ̀ṣé l’agba, ìṣẹ̀ṣé l’awa. Happy Ìṣẹ̀ṣé Day!” Hon. Segun Odunmbaku concluded.
