Ikeja Council Boss Attends Lagos NYSC Cultural Carnival

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Saturday, 7th February, 2026, attended the Lagos NYSC Cultural Carnival held at the Lagos State NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana-Ipaja.

The colourful cultural carnival showcased the rich diversity of Nigeria through captivating traditional dances, cultural plays, and indigenous attires representing various ethnic groups across the country.


The Ikeja Council Chairman, Comrade Dauda, was warmly received at the event by the Lagos State Director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Christiana Salmwang, who appreciated his presence and noted that it added prestige and colour to the occasion. The Ikeja Local Government Inspector of NYSC, Mrs. Abosede Ojimi, also joined the State Director in welcoming the Chairman.

In his brief remarks, Comrade Dauda commended the NYSC scheme for sustaining Nigeria’s cultural heritage and promoting unity among young Nigerians. He described the cultural carnival as a powerful platform for strengthening national cohesion and encouraging mutual respect among the diverse peoples of the country.


He reaffirmed Ikeja Local Government’s continued support for youth development initiatives and programmes that foster national integration.

The Chairman was accompanied to the event by his Chief of Staff, Chief Adeyi Adeniyi.
