Imo First Lady, Barr. Uzodinma Set To Distribute Palliatives To 610 Indigent Widows

The Wife of the Executive Governor of Imo State, Barr. Chioma Uzodinma, has concluded plans to distribute palliatives to 610 Indigent Widows across the State.

The initiative is in celebration of the 2020 International Widows’ Day held on June 23 and will be carried out through the Imo State Ministry of Gender and Vulnerable Groups.

“The International Widows’ day is set aside to celebrate the resilience of women who still weather life’s storm, notwithstanding the devastating effects of losing their partners and the need for an increased advocacy for a concerted attention around this vulnerable group of individuals in our society.” 

“Furthermore, this gesture of distributing palliatives to them is to further help cushion the negative economic effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on them.”

“The Honourable Commissioners for Gender/Vulnerable Groups and Housing, Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu and Hon. Dr. Love Ineh, respectively, will be on hand to supervise the sharing of these palliatives on my behalf.”

“The distribution will be done on zonal basis.”

2. Okigwe ZoneDate: Tuesday, 28/07/2020Venue: Ehime Mbano Local Government Area (LGA) council HeadquatersTime:10am
