The Chairman, Anambra State Chapter of Civil Liberties Organisation and Public Affairs Analyst, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, has pleaded with governments and Civil Society Organisations to brace up towards aggressive and conscientious enlightenment and education of the citizenry on horrendous dangers of contracting the dreadful Coronavirus.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Ezekwueme made the remarks during the visit of the Executive Members of Anambra Moralist Organisation to congratulate him on his birthday in his office in strict obedience to social and physical distancing. He decried the low level of awareness especially the rural dwellers on the need to strictly observe government, experts and World Health Organization advice in order to contain the spread and escalation of Covid-19 pandemic.
“Let the fortunate Nigerians and government provide adequate palliatives stimulus to cushion despicable effects of Coronavirus pandemic to the poor in our midst” he said.
Ezekwueme also appealed to warring communities of Umumbo and Omor to embrace peace and unity as according to revered Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s wise assertion that violence is the worst form of irresponsibility and lawlessness.

“I appeal to Anambra political gladiators to close ranks and think about the next generation not the next election by embracing the zoning arrangement formulated by former governor, Peter Obi, by collectively ceding the governorship position to Anambra South in interest of justice, equity, good conscience and morality.””I wish to also reiterate CLO’s earlier call for Igbo leaders to close ranks and work towards the actualisation of Nigeria’s President Of Igbo extraction. It is of prime importance to note that generation yet unborn will never forgive them and Civil Society Organisations if they fail in that regard.””I commend Anambra State Government and the Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, for proactive and diligent actions they have taken to control escalation of unnecessary and avoidable communal crisis between Umumbo and Omor communities.””At this period of hunger, anger and health challenges Anambra State cannot tolerate another communal crisis hence the inevitable and inexorable need to embrace peace by the warring communities in tandem with postulation of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe that we must make friends not enemies, think best not the worst of others” Ezekwueme posited.
