MICHAEL AKINOLA

Kas Foundation, a nongovernmental body anchored by Akinrombi Olakunle Ishola, put together a party on Monday 27th May, 2019, to celebrate the kids in the Ikeja area of Lagos as part of activities to mark the 2019 Children’s Day Celebration.

The yearly event, which attracted children and some parents from different parts of Ikeja, was held at Nurudeen Street, Anifowoshe, Ikeja, Lagos.

It was a fun filled event as the children were engaged with different games to make their day an exciting one. The spelling competition and others activities tested the mental capacities of the children and the winners went home with prizes.

The adults who came along with the children were not left out; they were equally engaged with some games and also involved in the dancing competition after which prizes were handed out.

According to Mr. Akinrombi Olakunle Ishola, the man behind Kas Foundation, it was his own way of celebrating and identifying with children around the Ikeja axis. He promised to make it more exciting for the children in the next editions.

Aside the prizes won by those who contested in the activities at the event, every child who came around went home with a pack courtesy of Kas Foundation. Some parents had difficulty taking the kids away from the event as they continued to play with the bouncing castles and other playing equipment available.

One of the parents at the event who spoke to our correspondent, Mrs. Ayo Alabi, expressed her appreciation to the organiser. In her words, “Only God can adequately reward Uncle Kas for putting smile on the faces of the children”.
