The Police at Ikotun Division have arrested a 20-year old lady, Opeyemi Adekunle, who engaged a 40-year old man, Ola Shittu, bit off his ear and swallowed it during a public fight in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Adams Estate in Ikotun area of Lagos State, where they reside.

The cause of the fight was not disclosed but the lady, Opeyemi described Shittu as her street toaster, who was kind to her before they engaged in the public fight.
It was gathered that Opeyemi and Shittu had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter, which resulted in fighting publicly in their area.
During the fight, the lady, Opeyemi, reportedly grabbed Shittu’s ear, bit it off and swallowed it. She said that she did not know what came over her to have engaged Shittu in the brawl which left him with a permanent injury on the ear.
He was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was treated but the ear that fell off could not be found as the lady, Opeyemi, was said to have swallowed it.

The matter was reported to the Police; Opeyemi was arrested and detained at the Police Station for assault by inflicting permanent injury on Shittu.
Having been found culpable, she was brought to the Ejigbo Magistrates Court to be arraigned for the alleged offence.

However, as the Court did not sit, she was returned to the Police Station and detained there. Hopefully she will be arraigned on Monday.
The suspect, Opeyemi, told P.M.EXPRESS correspondent that she was still shocked over the incident as she did not know what came over her, which made her to engage Shittu in the fight and ended up biting off his ear. She said that was why she had pleaded with him to forgive her but he refused and insisted that the matter should be charged to Court.
She said she was ready to pay the medical bills despite the fact that she actually bit off his ear but could not recollect what happened to the ear that fell off.
She narrated that she was born in Lagos but her parents hail from Oyo State; that she has lost her father but her aged mother was still alive.
